Dewey color run to benefit Rotary clubs June 3

May 14, 2018

Races2Run and sponsor Highway One Companies will hold the 5th Color Me Dewey 2.8-Mile color run Sunday, June 3. As part of the 10 Sisters of Dewey Beach Road Race Series, this non-competitive event will be a colorful way to raise money for Rotary Clubs of Area 51. Participants will become more colorful at specific stops along the course. All are invited to put on their washable running shoes and attire, and take part in this exciting and laugh-filled event that is open to runners, walkers, teams and everyone who wants to take part or help.

Packet pickup is 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at the Rusty Rudder. Non-running guests may purchase post-race party tickets for $5.

On race day, registration opens at 8:30 a.m. at the Rusty Rudder, Dickinson Avenue and Route 1 in Dewey Beach. The race begins at 10 a.m. sharp from the Rusty Rudder. The course ends at Northbeach, 125 McKinley Ave., for a great post-race party.

The flat, 2.8-mile course includes seven color stops at the Rusty Rudder, Ivy, Bottle & Cork, Jimmy’s Grille, Route 1 at Andrews Street, and Northbeach, plus bonus color at the finish line at Northbeach. The colored powder is manufactured and produced in the United States, and is made from food-grade quality cornstarch. It is nontoxic, 100 percent safe and biodegradable. Participants may wear glasses or goggles if they like. No dogs allowed in race.

Swag includes an official Color Me Dewey Run T-shirt, sweatband, swag bag, color packs and huge post-race party with food, beer (for those over 21) and live music.
