E3 2014 Game of the Show

June 26, 2014

E3 is always a somewhat hectic experience. While I have never been personally, just trying to keep up with all the news can be downright overwhelming. Thankfully, I have an awesome news team at that helped keep me up-to-date on all things E3 while I was unable to watch live coverage. After reviewing all of the awesome things announced at E3 2014, I have chosen one game as my Game of the Show: No Man’s Sky by Hello Games, the creators of Joe Danger.

No Man’s Sky (formerly known as Project Skyscraper) is like no game we've ever seen before. Hello Games describes it as “a forthcoming science fiction game about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated universe.”

This game has everything; even dinosaurs.

Hello Games is comprised of only 10 people, and four of them originally designed No Man's Sky. Yes, four people created the technology for this vast, complex game. There are now six or seven people working on the game; still quite impressive for a game this ambitious.

"It's a game without limits," writes Sean Murray, managing director at Hello Games. You create your own universe and explore to your heart's content.

It's a world just waiting for you to explore it.

Besides being really interested in the gameplay style and being mesmerized by the incredible visuals, what really intrigued me about No Man's Sky is its multiplayer style. “Even on one planet, if we had a million players, they would all start quite far apart,” Murray told Entertainment Weekly. “We’re pushing people miles apart. We’re doing the opposite of what every other game is doing.” If you know anything about me, you know what I'm not much of a fan of online multiplayer games unless the multiplayer is something very unique and captivating. And the multiplayer in No Man's Sky looks to be just that.

Every time you play No Man's Sky, you will discover something different, and the experience will be different for every player. I cannot wait to get my hands on this game.

Currently, the game is only coming to the PlayStation 4.
