Parking Rules at the Delaware Beaches
Parking meter rates are 25 cents for 10 minutes or $1.50 per hour. Bethany uses a pay station for its meters. Display your pay station receipt on your dashboard (driver's side).
Parking permits and parking meters are in effect May 15 through Sept. 15: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. (the following day) and Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. (the following day). Vehicles parked on the right-of-way during the hours parking permits are in effect as noted above must display a permit.
Parking permit fees: $200 for seasonal; $55 for weekly (any seven consecutive days); $10 for one day (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday); $15 for Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday); and $35 for weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Parking permits are sold at Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday; select hours at the iDewey Visitor Center, New Orleans Street Bayside; at parking permit machines at Town Hall parking lot, 24 hours, seven days a week; and online at idewey.com (fee may apply).
Parking meters are in effect May 15 through Sept. 15, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. - EXCEPT on Mondays through Wednesdays, 5 to 11 p.m. when parking is free.
Parking permits are required for all streets within the corporate limits of Fenwick Island May 15 though Sept. 15. Permits may be purchased at the Police Department, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Parking meters in the historic business district and in the 1812 Municipal Parking Lot are in effect from May 1 through Oct. 14. Parking in the business district is limited to a three-hour maximum from October 15 through April 30. Parking in the 1812 Municipal Parking Lot is limited to a three-hour maximum from May 1 through October 14. From October 15 through April 30, parking in the 1812 Parking Lot is limited to three hours on the canal side of the lot. Thirty-minute parking signage is enforced year-round. Lewes Beach parking meters at Beach One and Beach Two operate 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from May 1 through Sept. 30.
Parking meters are in effect the Friday immediately preceding Memorial Day through the second Sunday following Labor Day, from 10 a.m. until 12 a.m. (midnight). Meter rates are $2.00 per hour, payable by quarters or by credit card via Parkmobile or call 877-727-5758. The city is using the Parkmobile app and no longer accepting credit cards at the meter. Change machines are located at the Bandstand Pavilion on Rehoboth Avenue; First Street and Rehoboth Avenue; and at 306 Rehoboth Avenue. Change may also be obtained at the Parking Department at 30 ½ Lake Ave., behind City Hall.
Permits are required daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day in all non-metered areas within the city. Permits are on sale at the Parking Meter Division, 30 ½ Lake Ave., behind City Hall; at check-in time at several local real estate offices; at Rehoboth Avenue coming into town after crossing the drawbridge; and Bayard Avenue coming into town after crossing over Silver Lake bridge.
PARK AND RIDE
Delaware Area Resort Transit (DART) offers a Park and Ride lot, located on Shuttle Road off Route 1. Buses are air-conditioned and equipped with wheelchair lifts. Buses shuttle to the outlets, Rehoboth and Dewey beaches, Lewes and Ocean City, Md. For information about schedules and routes go to website or call 800-652-DART.
