On Thursday, September 20, the Nanticoke Health Foundation will host the 10th annual Ladies Day Golf Tournament at Heritage Shores in Bridgeville, Delaware. The tournament planning committee—consisting of Arsie Burton, Ellen Cohen, Donna Cranston, Chris Darby, Jenny Davis, Lynn Harman, Tina Hill, Janet Hubbard, Cathie Jo Jones, Sharon Mears, Gerry Mitchell, Trisha Newcomer, Linda Robertson, Linda Robinson, Pat Shannon, and Kathy Tucker— has been very busy planning a day of fun for a great cause!
This year’s tournament theme is “Puttering in Paris” and is open to all female golfers. Participants will enjoy 18-holes of golf at Heritage Shores, several specialty opportunities during the round of play, delicious food, and team prizes for gross and net scores. A full field of participants is expected.
Throughout the course, players will have numerous chances to test their skills by competing in contests for Closest to the Pin, Straightest Drive, Closest to the Eiffel Tower, the Pursuit of the Perfect Drive, and a Hole-In-One. Participants will have the opportunity to putt through a three-step qualifying round, and one individual will putt for $1000.
Tournament proceeds will benefit the Nanticoke Health Foundation in support of the Allen Caner Center at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. The PINK Links program will return and will display golf ball-shaped signs at the tournament to honor, memorialize or celebrate loved ones. The signs are available for a donation of $25.00 each.
Golfer entry fees are $90 per player and $360 for a foursome on Thursday. Sponsorships packages are available. More information and registration forms for the tournaments are available online at www.nanticoke.org/golf.
On Friday, September 21, Nanticoke will host the 32nd annual Open Golf Tournament.
