Everybody loves brunches. What’s not to love about a long, lazy midday meal that includes lots of bubbly cocktails, sweet foods and breakfast meats? Bethany Blues of Bethany Beach is taking brunch to a supreme level with its Blush and Bourbon Brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, May 20. This is a brunch featuring a coursed menu full of so much decadence, diners just may pitch a tent and live in the foyer of the building.
Tiffany Cordeaux, events coordinator for the Bethany location, was inspired by beautiful pictures of foods featuring a monochromatic theme. “I thought, wow, isn’t this beautiful? We could be doing something like this, only from our perspective, which is bourbon and barbecue,” she said. The culmination of her vision is the Blush and Bourbon Brunch where elevated barbecue collides with champagne and bourbon served course-by-course.
It begins with a quiche amuse bouche and a mimosa bar, and progresses with some amazing brunch staples including french toast with apple butter and caramel bourbon syrup, a smoked salmon Benedict and a breakfast burger. It concludes in a dessert trio which features champagne and bourbon in three different confectionary delights: a cupcake, a truffle, and banana bread. Each course comes with a corresponding cocktail, from the bubbly manhattan to a frozen bourbon milk punch.
