Cape Gazette visits the mouth of hell in Nicaragua

April 13, 2018

Rehoboth and Nicaragua residents Jeremy Cunliffe, Thurlow Cunliffe and Anais Saballos are pictured here with their Cape Gazette at the "mouth of hell," or at least that is what the Spanish thought of it in the 16th century when they first arrived at the Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua. "Too bad it is really hard to get a photo of the active crater," said Thurlow. "I would need a drone to get the right angle. It puts out a solid yellow/orange glow pretty much year-round."
