Enjoying outdoor adventure with the Gazette in Alaska and at the Arctic Circle
In August, Cape Gazette readers Norma and Chuck Willis traveled to Alaska for camping, hiking and, of course, salmon and halibut fishing. As part of this year’s camping trip, Norma and Chuck decided they would venture farther north in Alaska to visit the Yukon River and then travel up past the Arctic Circle. After that adventure, they headed back south with stops for hiking in Denali and wildlife-viewing in Whittier and Seward. Fishing then became their next adventure with salmon fishing in Seward, the Russian River and Homer followed by halibut fishing in Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay.
