El Dorado restaurant is just a few steps west of Coastal Highway on Rt. 24. And those few steps are worth it! Once you try the fresh, prepared-to-order shrimp, fish, chicken and steak, you’ll be hooked forever. Healthy, flavorful ingredients are served up as soft tacos, overstuffed burritos and even salads. Owner Aquiles Demerutis’ obsession with freshness has loyal customers flocking to his welcoming, yet informal restaurant to enjoy Baja-style creations with fish, shrimp, chicken (pollo asado) and steak (carne asada).
Regulation-style fish tacos are fried in a light and crispy batter, but Aquiles is also proud to offer them grilled. Aquiles eats at his restaurant every day, and his favorite dish is two grilled fish tacos and one chorizo taco with chips and a little guacamole: lots of protein and minerals – now at off-season prices while Aquiles’ wallet-friendly specials are in effect. Get $1 off all tacos on Tuesdays, with all-day happy hour on Wednesdays featuring $3 beers & sangrias and $5 margaritas. Celebrate Thursdays by knocking $2 off of all burritos.
The main dishes come fully accessorized with salsa, rice, beans and taco fixins’. The beer-battered fish is cradled in a corn tortilla with fresh cabbage strips. The shrimp are hot and crispy, and the burritos are stuffed with your choice of fish or shrimp plus crunchy cabbage, jalapenos (if you ask!) and Mexican crema. A circle of tables and booths orbits a collection of cool pico de gallo; avocado salsa with chili peppers; crunchy shredded cabbage, tomatillo salsa made with chili de arbol, and a bracing mix of onions, carrots and habanero peppers.
