Kimberly M. Carey of Rehoboth Beach recently purchased and reopened The Lilypad Children's Boutique in Villages by the Sea, 149 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
Carey, who grew up in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in economics, has worked in retail management on Rehoboth Avenue for over 18 years. She purchased The Lilypad in January and spent the winter revitalizing the space with the help of well-known Rehoboth designer and retailer Mary Walls Grant of the Elizabeth Grant Design Company.
The Lilypad has offered children's clothing and accessories for over 30 years. In addition to revamping the décor, Kim has introduced new vendors to the children's boutique from areas such as South Carolina, New York, California, the U.K. and Spain, creating a shopping destination for children's merchandise truly unique to the Delaware beaches. New additions to inventory also include matching outfits for parents which have been included in this summer's shipments.
Carey looks forward to carrying on The Lilypad's tradition of offering local residents and visitors alike exceptional children's clothing, accessories and toys in the Nation's Summer Capital.
The Lilypad Children's Boutique is now open daily: Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.); Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
