Mary Anne LaTorre, RN, MA, will lead a five-part series on meditative approaches to pain management starting at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Lewes Wellness Center. Meditation has long been known to be a helpful tool to lower blood pressure, reduce pain and treat symptoms of stress. Pain is a complex phenomenon involving physical, emotional and social factors, and the sessions will explore these aspects and provide some helpful tools.
For those who want to begin their weeks in a focused way, a meditation hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. each Monday. For those who feel unsure about meditation practices or have never tried them, there will be a four-part series called Meditation for Beginners from 10 to 11 a.m. beginning Wednesday, Oct. 24.
