Wheels for Meals bicycle ride fundraiser set May 5

Starts and ends at Dogfish Head in Milton
April 15, 2018

Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth will present Wheels for Meals, its fourth annual bicycle ride fundraiser Saturday, May 5.

Proceeds help provide nutritious meals to senior neighbors. Dogfish Head Beer and Benevolence is the presenting sponsor of the event, and the Wheels for Meals ride will start and end at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton.

All levels of cyclists are invited. Depending on riding expertise and stamina, cyclists can choose 12-, 25- or 50-mile routes. Snacks and beverages are available at rest stops along the way. Vehicles with supplies and gear will follow the riders, with support from local police so all riders remain safe. All participants are rewarded with a fun cookout after the rides, and riders over 21 can enjoy two complimentary Dogfish Head beers. For those who can’t ride but would like to participate, volunteers are always welcome.

Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth is on the front line helping senior citizens remain independent, dignified members of the community by assisting in the maintenance of their nutritional needs. Meals on Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth plays an important role in helping seniors maintain healthy lives at home by providing hot meals and warm smiles to more than 300 clients every weekday.
